One of the most common questions I get from a senior and their parents is about the editing and retouching process. What gets retouched? Will the images look natural? How much editing is too much? I totally get it—your senior photos should showcase who you are, not some overly edited version of yourself. My goal is to enhance your images while keeping everything looking real and authentic.
The Editing Process
After your session, I go through every photo and choose the absolute best ones to edit. These are the ones that capture your personality, your best angles, and those moments that just feel genuine and effortless.
Once I’ve selected the final images, I start the editing process. This includes:
- Color Correction: Making sure the tones look natural, bright, and vibrant without looking overly processed.
- Skin Retouching: I keep it light and natural—removing any temporary blemishes or stray hairs while keeping skin texture intact. If you have freckles or birthmarks, don’t worry—they stay!
- Background Cleanup: If there’s a distracting object in the background, I’ll take care of it. The focus should be on you, not a random sign or stray piece of trash.
- Light Adjustments: I make sure the lighting looks balanced, highlighting your best features without making the photo look too filtered.
What’s Not Changed?
I don’t believe in over-editing. I won’t reshape faces, alter body proportions, or make someone look like a different person. My editing style enhances your natural beauty while keeping everything real and true to you.
